Receiving Grace
2 Peter 3:18
- Many believers do not grow in the knowledge of grace, and therefore never grow in the grace of God’s heart. They have preconceived notions about the world of believers, and they are deprived of the opportunity to grow in the Lord’s heart. Without an explanation of the life of the Holy Spirit through the Word, they keep going down in their minds as they go to God.
For some people, life is just a promise of eternity. Acquaintance for them is only with the sufferings of Christ. Now they are against those who come into the life of Christ.
Why would the devil be one with the mood? When people react defensively to the impulse of their suffering, then they come to a place of unity with it. What people defend, they must cover with security. Those who have lost themselves are hidden in Christ and have no thought of fame. The best defense is to be non-aggressive. The only way to fight the battle is to rest in Christ.
Rest brings refreshment to the soul and strength to move forward in God. Don’t stay like that when you are attacked. You should live in a place where you have no weakness towards Satan. You are hidden in Christ and he is the one who made himself without any reputation by his own choice. Your attainment rests on his freedom of choice. It is not what is associated with your name that gives you fame, but what your life proclaims through Him who gives grace even in the ungraciousness of sin. We cannot expect anything other than what we get on the cross of Calvary.
