Staying with Him in Faith
Mark 3:20-21
- As we walk the steps of discipleship, how soon will our hearts be revealed to God? Do we trust in natural security, or in God by faith? Are we trusting in God’s provision in grace or are we trusting in the preparation of the natural realm for tomorrow? Do we live as if we can do as we please and continue to do what is still morally right according to our standard of moral righteousness, or do we live as if Jesus is coming again? Don’t we go ahead and make an investment in a lost world, a weak people in a weak system who need help? Will we accept God’s promised provision and live by faith so that we will please God and become like Christ with great faith? Do we realize that God also made His own Son, who is Jesus Christ, live by faith?
People can often create exceptions to the faith life when they feel they must be practical in some way. It is true that in good stewardship we must be logical, but even in that situation our faith in God must not be wasted by our practical exceptions. Worldly rules will always encourage us to slow down and think. Jesus always inspires us to move forward, and faith gathers us. Dead to worldly rules, we are traveling strangers. We will not spend the rest of our lives planning for tomorrow, but by faith we will be in God’s plan for eternity. We will never be where we think we are in the natural realm, but our lives will be where God leads us in the supernatural.
