Today is not the time to go to heaven: The Bible’s view
Introduction
Most people don’t think about the uncertainties of life and death. They keep themselves busy with worries about work, family, and other things in life. But according to the Bible, the most important decision we have in life is today. The Bible warns us that the time to go to heaven is today, not later.
“Who are you to boast about tomorrow? For your life is but a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes.” – (James 4:14)
What the Bible is trying to tell us here is that our lives are uncertain . We don’t know if we will survive another day of life. We will all have to face the end of our lives someday, and that time may be near.
1. The uncertainty of death
Many people view life as very normal and stable. They make plans for the future, but the Bible reminds us that death is not in our hands . “Think about today, for you do not know what tomorrow will bring.” (Matthew 6:34)
We cannot say with certainty how unstable life is. As the time of death approaches, we cannot prepare ourselves for it. These words of the Bible convey the message that we should cherish today. We do not know whether we will be alive the next day or whether we will die.
2. The time for salvation is today.
God has clearly stated in His Word that the time of salvation is today. Our salvation is the fruit of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. “Now is the acceptable time, now is the day of salvation!” (2 Corinthians 6:2)
What this verse means is that God’s salvation is not cheap for us. Jesus Christ decided to give his life for us. If we will accept him as our personal Savior, it is up to us. Today is a crucial time for God.
3. If you died today…
In the story of the rich man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19-31), we find that the rich man one day spent a large part of his life in luxury and luxury. But when his death came, he was sent to hell. When he began to ask for his blessings, he was not given the opportunity.
This example warns us that if we don’t accept Jesus today, we may not have that opportunity in the future. We don’t know if our life will end tomorrow.
4. The decision to go to heaven must be made today.
The Bible says, “Accept today as it is.” If you haven’t accepted Jesus, this could be the biggest decision of your life. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household” (Acts 16:31).
If you accept Jesus from your heart today, you can find the true purpose of your life. The path to heaven is straight and clear, and it is in your hands today.
conclusion
The importance of today is immense. The time to go to heaven is now , and we must accept Jesus as our Savior. The most important decision in life is this: will we follow God’s path or will we continue on our own path, which will ultimately lead us to hell?
If you don’t know what decision to make, welcome Jesus Christ into your life today. “The grace of God is open to you.” Today is the best time to receive your salvation.
