What does it mean to be Saved?
The meaning of Salvation is given to us in the Bible.
Genesis 2:16-17.
16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
We are all now born in Sin, born with a Sin Nature because of their disobedience. God from that time provided a way for us to be reconciled to him, through his one and only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus lived a sinless life and was the perfect sacrifice for all Sin. He gave up his life on the Cross and was crucified. He was buried, raised from the dead and is now alive. The bible says:
Romans 10:9-10
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
We repent of our sins, accept Jesus Christ as our Saviour and are saved by the blood of Jesus Christ that was shed on Calvary.
Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
The bible says that after we are Saved we can be baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. To receive the baptism all you have to do is #1 be Saved first, #2 pray and ask to be filled with the Spirit.
You must not pay attention or be worried about what you’re saying because you will not understand it, it’s not for you to understand. Praying in the Spirit is between you and God.
In the bible in Acts 2:2-4 it says:
In Colossians 2:6 it says: “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him.” Receiving Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour opens the door to you to receive everything that he died on the Cross for you to have. When we received Jesus into our hearts and lives we simply believed, we didn’t “do” anything to earn Salvation. When you have a need or if you are in bondage to anything, anything at all know this, Jesus Christ died for it. Place your faith in Jesus Christ the same way you did to be Saved, that’s the same way you will receive the victory that was won there for you. It was already done, already paid for!
You must now walk in that, if it’s smoking, put the cigarette down and put your faith in Jesus because he died so that you don’t need to be in bondage to that. He can and will set you free. It may not happen over night, it may take weeks, months or even longer but don’t stop believing and placing your faith in Christ Jesus. He died so you can be free!
We must add this!! If you have diabetes or medical conditions that require you to take medicine for, please do not stop taking the medicine before a Doctor tells you to do so. God does work through Dr’s and they can direct you the best.
Evangelism is sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and him Crucified, the Message of the Cross, to everyone. Everyone in the world should be given the opportunity to receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour.
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
The Message of the Cross is the preaching of Jesus Christ and him Crucified. That is the message, the Truth. This is how we are saved, delivered, set free and how we live a victorious life in Christ. Now let’s look at the verses in the bible that share this truth.
Romans 6:1-2 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
When we give our lives to Jesus Christ, repent of our sins, ask him into our hearts and believe that God raised Jesus from the dead and is alive, then we are born again, saved. We are given a new life in Christ. Should we who are saved continue to live like we did, when we weren’t? God forbid. Absolutely not! When Jesus died on the Cross he died for all of our sins, he paid the price with his perfect sinless life. He died so that we could be forgiven of our sin and live eternally with him when we die. We will live eternally somewhere, so we chose Heaven or Hell. We are all given a choice. When Jesus died, we died with him spiritually speaking. Who we were, we are no longer. We are raised up with him in newness of life. The old man is dead and the new man now lives in Christ.
Romans 6:3-6 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
Another great verse to look up is in Colossians 2:11-13.
We can live victorious lives by keeping our Faith daily, every day we wake up, we keep our faith in Jesus Christ and what he has done for us on the Cross. He died so that you can have freedom from ALL bondages, smoking, swearing, stealing, alcohol and drug addiction…ALL! Not everything will fall off at once. If you still struggle with something keep praying keep seeking and keep asking God to help you. He will and one day that thing that you struggle with will be gone. Keep you faith in what Jesus did for you. How do you do that? You believe that we did was enough because he bought it all and paid for it all. You are no longer in a death sentence. You now have life, eternal life with him. Don’t live a defeated life. You are living with Christ inside of you, allow him to rule and reign. Read the word so you know how to live it and allow the Holy Spirit to teach you, guide you and convict you.
God Bless you.
