Welcome to today’s devotion.
Be in the thoughts of God
Isaiah 55:8-9
Think about the times of these hours that people spend in thoughts that are not God’s thoughts. Whether your thoughts make you uncomfortable, angry, or depressed, they serve outside of God’s heart. Any thoughts that do not have God in them fall under the category of useless thoughts. But how can we think our own thoughts, if we have the mind to think together? By Proverbs 16:3, we commit our actions to the Lord, and our thoughts will be established.
The only work left for us to do is to believe (John 6:28). Being committed to faith is your only source of action. It is our faith in His work that establishes our hearts in grace.
Our thoughts are our environment, our education and our religions which have affected us from within. But God erases our thoughts, and speaks to us in his faith about our lives. Do not be passive to your thoughts, but take revenge on Satan’s thoughts with obedience. If you do not do this, then we will not be on the path of God. Thoughts produce paths. Many times people do not follow the path of discipleship because they do not have their own ideas. Jesus calls people without definition. If he had given a definition, they would have put it in their own words and interpreted his call. Our thoughts always lead to the path of temporary security. If Christ’s thoughts had been occupied, he could never have gone to the cross to the end, and the new way of grace would not have begun.
Today’s reading passage: John 7-10.
