Jayamsih..! Welcome to today’s devotion!
Thank God for Ephesians
Ephesians 1:1
- How many people sing for their place in Christ and praise God, and yet they don’t like their Ephesians? They are never faithful in their experience with Christ, if they go against the will of God in their Ephesians. God’s will is that we are in our Ephesus. It is God’s provision that we are in Christ Jesus, so that we have this opportunity to be faithful.
To the saint who is geographically unhappy in his present situation, I ask, “Do you know where you are in Christ Jesus?” “No” you say. All I know is that I am in Ephesus. It is great to be in Christ, but not so great to be in Ephesus. Singing about Zion is fun, but being in Ephesus is not so fun. Being a saint is one thing, but who would ever want to be in Ephesus?”
How many events do we spend disliking Ephesians? The result of our disliking Ephesians is our rejection of God’s will. Going to the mountain of Golgotha was Ephesus for Jesus. If there had been anything other than Golgotha for Jesus Christ on that day, human history would have gone beyond God’s will. There is no reason for me to evaluate my Ephesians. This is where I am in God’s will. To oppose it is to challenge the sovereign plan of God’s will with my human will and weak mind.
Here I am in Ephesus, located in a certain area of God’s plan, God can use this place, to bless me and share my life with those in Ephesus.
