Change in light
Psalm 119:130
- The promise from God’s word is to change in the character of Christ. The flame always reveals the areas where we are not walking in the truth. The flame is not intended to lead to punishment, but to establish us in the right place of the truth of God’s mind. Under the right kind of determination, we will grow deeper in every word and not revert to the sin that was in Adam. What is the value of the message if it does not transform and mold us into the image of Christ?
Its value is like human criticism or slippery slope, and it does not bear any eternal fruit. If we experience determination every time we hear the word of God, then every word changes something in us from darkness to light.
Where did the light of God lead Job? His three friends told him that he was not right with God, but God saw him as righteous (Job 42:5-6). Many people give advice that is not equipped by God. While Job was not perfect in his experience, God saw him through the blood. Then Ayyuv began to see himself in the light. The light left him in despair, but enlightened him in the reality of the work accomplished, and that light changed him.
When Daniel saw his unworthiness in the light of God, he saw himself as weak and useless (Daniel 10:8-14). We may be walking in the light, but until we see another glimpse of God, we remain as mature as we are. We will see God and, as we humble ourselves, receive His touch, which gives us a great measure of growth in Christ.
